Krave was established in July of this year to offer busy working people the convenience of having a healthy and delicious lunch delivered straight to their desk.
The owner of Krave, Kate Leen, said: “I remember being at work in my previous role and as a busy manager I rarely took a full lunch break. Some days i would be organised enough to pack my lunch other days not so. Also having two small children to get out the door, I came to realise we often neglect our own wellbeing! I remember thinking one day if someone could hand me my lunch and a healthy one at that it might make lunch time a bit easier.”
Kate’s husband David Leen already ran a business providing salads made fresh daily with no additives or preservatives to shops, delis and butchers.
After much research Kate undertook a food programme. “This helped me greatly understand the food business and helped us with the development of Krave,” she added.
“We also worked closely with local chef Mark Doe over a number of months to create nutritious and delicious lunches, with healthy proteins and slow-release carbs to keep you fuller for longer and avoid that mid afternoon slump.”
All Krave dishes are available through delivery and are not available to shops. “We have also introduced vegetable curries and rustic soups to our winter menu to warm your toes in the winter months!” said Kate.
Krave, along with its sister business the long-established Con Leen Salads, is located in The Kerry Food Hub in Firies village. “We offer deliveries in Tralee on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and in Killarney on Wednesdays and Fridays with a view to adding additional delivery days,” said Kate.
